Subject: Local Human Services Tax Credit Program
 
Soon, I will be introducing legislation which will establish a program to give our local human service organizations a means funding similar to the OSTC and EITC programs for our schools. This program will include funding for both public and private organizations.
 
The human service organizations within our local communities have the insight of what works within their communities when it comes to helping our most vulnerable Pennsylvanians through difficult situations that impoverish hearts, minds and livelihoods. We have seen how successful the EITC and OSTC programs have been with providing scholarships to students in need. Our hope is that a tax credit program similar to these will be effective in identifying local human service organizations that will be able to best assist those in need locally.
 
Please join me in co-sponsoring this important piece of legislation.
