Subject: | School Nurse Day in Pennsylvania |
Soon, we plan to introduce a resolution declaring May 12, 2021, as " School Nurse Day" in Pennsylvania. Since 1972, National School Nurse Day has been set aside to foster a better understanding of the role of school nurses in the educational setting and celebrate the vital part that School Nurses play in our communities. This year, School Nurse Day is May 12, 2021. As our children begin a return to normal, we must recognize the crucial role that school nurses have played and will continue to play in safeguarding the health and wellness of students, faculty, and staff across our education system throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. School nurses optimize student health and learning throughout the academic year. Together with the Pennsylvania Association of School Nurses and Practitioners (PASNAP), we take special time to recognize the contributions that school nurses are making to the health and learning of our Commonwealth’s nearly 2 million schoolchildren. Please join us in recognizing and honoring the more than 3,200 School Nurses, RNs, and LPNs working across our public education system in Pennsylvania by co-sponsoring this resolution. |
