Subject: | Credit for Prior Learning for Cambridge International Assessments |
In the near future I intend to introduce a bill to add Cambridge Advanced Exams to the list of approved college-equivalent assessments eligible for credit at PASSHE institutions. Several sessions ago, the General Assembly passed legislation to ensure that high school students who earned qualifying scores on Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, and College Level Examination Program (CLEP) exams could earn credit at PASSHE institutions. This proposal would add Cambridge International assessments to that list, giving more students the opportunity to enter our public universities with credit. Cambridge International is the second largest provider of rigorous curriculum and assessments in the United States, servicing more students than the International Baccalaureate program. My legislation will reduce student debt and help attract more students to Pennsylvania’s public institutions of higher education. Please join me in sponsoring this important legislation. |
