Subject: | 50th Anniversary of the Graduation of the First Female PSP Cadets |
The Pennsylvania State Police is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the graduation of the 31st Cadet Class, which was the first to include female cadets in its ranks. To recognize this significant occasion in PSP history, as Chairs of the Senate Law and Justice and Judiciary Committees, respectively, we intend to introduce a resolution. A total of 14 female cadets graduated in the 31st Cadet Class, several of whom will be in attendance at a special ceremony being held by PSP on July 7th. A list of the cadets is below, and for your reference, we have noted whose district each lives in, or for those who have passed or moved out-of-state, the member’s district in which they resided. Of note, the majority hail from a district currently represented by a female Senator, which speaks to the trail these women blazed 50 years ago.
Please join us in co-sponsoring this resolution recognizing these 14 women who made history in Pennsylvania and opened the door for many more female cadets to follow in their footsteps, honorably serving and protecting our Commonwealth. Because of the July 7th event, please plan to sign-on as a co-sponsor by close of business on June 29th. |
