MEMORANDUM

To: All House members
Subject: Providing Homeowners Relief from Intense Solicitations to Sell Their Homes

With the expansion of gentrification and the desire to build new homes, Pennsylvania homeowners are regularly pestered by real estate professionals to sell their property.  These high levels of solicitation are not only annoying, but they can also be detrimental to homeowners as real estate professionals use aggressive predatory tactics on homeowners.  These tactics seek to shortchange the homeowner and maximize profits for developers.  We need to do our part to protect Pennsylvania homeowners and control unwanted solicitation.

My legislation would require real estate professionals to announce themselves and their intentions to purchase property when making door-to-door solicitations.  It would also prohibit predatory tactics and fine anyone who continues to use predatory tactics any amount from $2,000 to $10,000.

All Pennsylvania homeowners deserve to live in peace and not be bullied by real estate professionals.  Please join me in curtailing unending solicitations by co-sponsoring this bill.
