Subject: | Investing in Infrastructure Improvements Throughout Pennsylvania |
In our state, we expect our government to help when disaster, blight, and the contamination of public resources strike our neighborhoods. We also hope that our government will be proactive in creating a cleaner and more sustainable world for us and future generations. Yet, many areas in Pennsylvania lack the critical infrastructure funding they needed to ensure this can happen. We need to help these communities make necessary infrastructure changes to ensure that we are good stewards of our state. To aid this effort, we will be introducing legislation allocating $3 billion into a fund designated for improving infrastructure throughout Pennsylvania. In addition, our bill establishes a board tasked with directing these essential investments in areas such as flood control infrastructure, disaster response, green infrastructure, redevelopment, repairs and blight demolition, storm water infrastructure, brownfield clean-up, contaminant remediation in schools and childcare centers, business development and site selection, energy efficiency, and transportation infrastructure. We believe that this investment will drastically improve many of our communities without the burden of increasing local taxes. Please join us in making investments that Pennsylvanians have long waited for and so badly need. |
