MEMORANDUM

Posted: February 1, 2023 09:22 AM
From: Representative Brandon J. Markosek
To: All House members
Subject: Veterans Outreach Services

As you may know, under Act 66 of 2007, funding is provided to organizations that provide outreach services to Pennsylvania’s veterans and their families. Specifically, this funding assists organizations such as the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Veterans, and Disabled American Veterans in providing various services and assistance to veterans and their families.

Due to the ever-growing needs of our veterans and the success of Act 66, I will be introducing legislation that would provide additional funding for veterans outreach services. Under this legislation, an additional $1 million would be allocated for the purpose of stabilizing and augmenting services by providing competitive pay and training and increasing the number of locations for greater outreach service accessibility. In addition, the funding would assist our veterans service organizations with developing more online and virtual services.

Please join me in ensuring that our veterans outreach service organizations have the necessary resources to continue to provide the assistance our veterans and their families deserve.

Introduced as HB402
