MEMORANDUM

Posted: May 5, 2023 09:20 AM
From: Representative Christopher M. Rabb and Rep. La'Tasha D. Mayes
To: All House members
Subject: Modernizing the definitions section of Chapter 21 of the PA Crime Code

In the 21st Century, we should no longer be surveilling, judging or criminalizing the sexual activities of consenting adults.

For this reason, this forthcoming bill (formerly HB 2931) seeks to amend Title 18 to remove “deviate sexual intercourse” from the definitions section of Chapter 21 of Title 18.

If state lawmakers are too embarrassed to read from the statutes on the books, they shouldn’t be in position to vote on bills that restrict the private behaviors of consenting adults.

Please join us in making the PA Crime Code more sex positive for the well-being, safety and inclusion of all Pennsylvanians.

Introduced as HB1187
