Subject: Study to Create a Commonwealth Agency to Monitor and License AI Products

In the next few years, artificial intelligence (AI) is going to revolutionize how we consume news articles, entertainment, create products, and do new things that we cannot imagine at this point.  This is an exciting time.  However, we cannot allow artificial intelligence to become a lawless Wild West and allow these systems and products to develop without guidance and structure.  Without this oversight, Pennsylvanians could be put at risk.

I will be introducing a resolution that would create a taskforce to study the need to create a Commonwealth agency to monitor and license AI products that are used in Pennsylvania.  Without this licensing and guidance, Pennsylvanians will be susceptible to fraud and without licensing or identification, we will not be able to properly identify the person or company that is responsible for these misdeeds.  This taskforce will be able to study this issue and plant the roots that will create a Commonwealth agency that can regulate and monitor this new space and industry.

Thank you for supporting this resolution.  Together we can study AI and determine how best to protect consumers, producers, and Pennsylvanians in the future.
