Subject: Weather Normalization
 
In the near future I will be introducing legislation to prohibit public utilities from using rate mechanisms that are dependent upon the weather.

Multiple constituents of mine have reached out with concerns and grievances related to weather normalization adjustments that have been applied to their utility bills.  These charges can have the effect or perception of punishing ratepayers for something that they have zero control over and can disincentivize efficient energy usage if energy bills are not connected to the amount of energy consumed.
