Subject: Requiring State Agencies to Provide Live Phone Services
 
Our state agencies provide important services and administrative functions. Naturally, Pennsylvanians want ready access to state agencies for information on these services and responsibilities. However, members of the public often face frustrations when attempting to contact these agencies via phone. Ineffective customer service systems continuously redirect individuals and make speaking with a live representative difficult and time consuming.
 
That is why I am introducing legislation to require our state agencies to have live phone services available on their public lines. This will increase the quality of service to the public from state agencies, and it will streamline the process by which members of the public can have their questions answered and access important information.
 
Please join me in co-sponsoring this needed legislation to improve the accessibility and convenience of phone services from our state agencies. Your consideration is appreciated.
