Subject: Common Interest Ownership Community (CIOC) Board Accountability
 
In the near future I plan to introduce legislation that amends Title 68 to further improve the transparency of board elections in Common Interest Ownership Communities (CIOCs).

Under Act 115 of 2022, a community with 500 or more units would be required to utilize a third party, independent reviewer to oversee and certify board elections. My bill will bring that number of units down from 500 units to 400 units. This ensures that more CIOCs are utilizing a third-party reviewer to certify their elections.

Additionally, my bill will create more accountability and transparency for CIOC boards and their members who serve on them.
