Subject: Recognizing October 8-14, 2023 as International Sterile Processing Week
 
I will soon be introducing a Resolution to recognize International Sterile Processing Week in Pennsylvania as October 8-14, 2023 because cleanliness is critical at all healthcare facilities across Pennsylvania.

The Sterile Processing Department at a healthcare facility is responsible for cleaning, assembling, sterilizing, storing, and distributing the medical devices and supplies needed for patient care. Sterile Processing professionals ensure medical staff in operating rooms, ICUs, endoscopy suites, birth centers, and other patient care areas receive sterile surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment integral in providing the best possible patient care. Their commitment to maintaining high standards of sanitation is crucial in keeping Pennsylvanians safe.

Please join me in recognizing the important role Sterile Processing Departments play in providing the best care to Pennsylvanians by co-sponsoring this Resolution.
