Subject: | Protecting the privacy of victims of sexual harassment claims under the Right-to-Know Law |
In the near future, I plan to introduce legislation to amend the Commonwealth’s Right-to-Know Law to add a specific exception to protect the identity of a victim of sexual harassment or sexual assault who has entered into a settlement agreement with a public entity. By way of background, Pennsylvania Courts require the disclosure of settlement agreements in Right-to-Know requests even in situations in which the agreement itself requires confidentiality by the parties. I would like to protect the privacy of victims of sexual harassment claims which result in a settlement with a public entity covered by the Right-to-Know Law. Please join me in co-sponsoring this important legislation. |
