Subject: | Recognizing and Commemorating the 121st Anniversary of Korean American Day |
In the near future, I will be introducing a resolution recognizing and commemorating the 121st Anniversary of Korean American Day. On January 13, 1903, the first wave of Korean immigrants came to the United States, arriving in Honolulu, Hawaii. Today, nearly 2 million people of Korean descent live throughout the United States and are part of a vibrant, growing Korean American community. Korean immigrants established a new home in a new land through resilience, tenacious effort, and immense sacrifice, which became the bedrock for their children and future generations of Korean Americans. January 13, 2024 will mark 121 years since the first Korean immigrants paved the way for future Korean Americans. Therefore, I plan to commemorate this milestone and recognize the contributions Korean Americans have had on this Commonwealth. Please join me in cosponsoring this important resolution. |
