MEMORANDUM

Posted: December 12, 2023 11:53 AM
From: Representative Bud Cook
To: All House members
Subject: H. Ronald Hoskinson-Dunkard Creek Bridge Designation

In the near future, I will be introducing legislation designating a bridge carrying State Route 2003 over Dunkard Creek in Perry Township, Greene County, as H. Ronald Hoskinson Memorial Bridge.
Harry Ronald Hoskinson was born on September 2, 1941, in Mt. Morris, Pennsylvania. Ronnie graduated from Mt. Morris High School where he was a lineman on the football team. Ronnie had a love of fishing, ice skating, playing pool, and being outdoors. After high school, Ronnie was drafted into the U.S. Army, where he was a Specialist in Company B, 2nd Battalion, 2nd Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. Ronnie was killed in action on December 14, 1965. He was laid to rest in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Mt. Morris, PA on December 24, 1965. He was 24 years old at the time of his death. Ronnie was married to Madelynn Hoskinson, who had their only daughter, Rhonda.
For his valiant service, Specialist Hoskinson was awarded the Purple Heart, National Defense, Vietnam Service, and Vietnam Campaign Medals.
I hope you will sponsor this legislation and join me in honoring this fallen hero.

Respectfully,
Representative Bud Cook
