Subject: | Preserving Access to Reproductive Efforts – Non-Traditional Act – the PARENT Act |
When to start or expand a family is one of the most exciting and personal decisions parents will make in their life. For many, the journey to fulfilling their dreams of starting a family may come easily. However, for others— the 11 percent of women and nine percent of men who struggle with fertility—the journey can be a long and winding road, which may include needing the assistance of medical specialists for the chance of having their dreams realized. In addition to struggling to conceive, many of those facing fertility issues across the country are up against a new challenge—the potential loss of access to fertility treatments. That is why we are introducing legislation that would protect prospective parents’ rights to fertility treatments in Pennsylvania. Our legislation would also protect providers’ rights to perform evidence-based treatments to help families conceive. Everyone deserves the right to family planning, whether through traditional or medically assisted means. Please join us in ensuring everyone has the option to create the family they always hoped for. |
