Subject: | National Osteopathic Medicine Week in Pennsylvania |
We plan to introduce a resolution to proclaim April 15-21, 2024, to be National Osteopathic Medicine Week in Pennsylvania. Our resolution aims to celebrate osteopathic physicians (DOs) for their contributions to improving the health of their communities throughout the Commonwealth. DOs practice in every medical field and specialty, combining medical expertise with a whole-person approach centered on listening to and partnering with their patients. Pennsylvania is 3rd in the country in the number of practicing DOs, counting over 11,000, with 62% under the age of 45. Pennsylvania is also privileged to host three great colleges of Osteopathic Medicine that educate and train future physicians, creating access to medical care throughout the Commonwealth. Please join us in supporting this resolution to recognize these important health professionals in Pennsylvania. |
