Subject: Public College and University Endowment Postings
 
As the Commonwealth continues to fund higher education at record levels, it is important that taxpayers and the public know how much money state funded colleges and universities have in their endowments.
 
While this information is publicly available, it can be difficult to find, and many taxpayers do not know how much we are spending on higher education. My legislation will increase transparency and require the Department of Education to post the endowments of state higher education institutions online each year.
 
It is important that hardworking, Pennsylvania taxpayers know where we are sending their resources. Please join me in making sure there is greater transparency in higher education funding in the commonwealth.
