MEMORANDUM

From: Representative Carol Hill-Evans
To: All House members
Subject: A RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING SEPTEMBER 29, 2024, AS "VFW DAY" IN PENNSYLVANIA

I will soon be introducing a resolution to recognize September 29, 2024, as "VFW Day" in Pennsylvania. This resolution honors the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) for their dedication to serving veterans, military personnel, and our communities.

The VFW, established in 1913 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, is a nonprofit veteran’s service organization with over 1.5 million members worldwide. Their mission is to foster camaraderie among veterans of overseas conflicts, serve veterans, the military, and communities, and advocate on behalf of all veterans.
The VFW has played a crucial role in securing veterans' rights and benefits, providing financial assistance to military families, and supporting local community service projects. Their efforts ensure veterans, and their families receive the care and support they deserve.

VFW Day is an opportunity to recognize the hard work and sacrifice of VFW members and to honor their continued service.

Please join me in co-sponsoring this resolution to recognize September 29, 2024, as "VFW Day" in Pennsylvania.

Thank you for your consideration.
