Subject: | National Disability Employment Awareness Month |
In the near future, I plan on introducing legislation to honor October 2024 as National Disability Employment Awareness Month in the Commonwealth.
National Disability Employment Awareness Month, or “NDEAM,” was designated by Congress in 1988 and serves as a way to celebrate the talent and worth these employees bring to the Commonwealth's businesses and economy.
NDEAM is used as a tool to ensure disabled individuals have access to good, safe jobs. It is a reminder that we must push for supportive, inclusive policies and practices that benefit and protect the disabled workforce.
The theme for NDEAM this year is simple: "Access to Good Jobs for All." I hope you join me as we celebrate and raise awareness for this important cause. |
