Subject: | I-95 Regulation Waiver Study |
Governor Shapiro’s swift action to restore the damaged I-95 bridge is commendable, and sheds light on potential opportunities to expedite future road and bridge repairs. Soon, I plan to introduce a resolution to direct the Legislative Budget and Finance Committee (LBFC) to study Pennsylvania’s road and bridge repair process. The study will also direct the LBFC to determine if any of the processes used or regulations waived during the I-95 bridge repair should be considered to streamline future road and bridge projects in the Commonwealth. Pennsylvania drivers depend on safe and functioning roads, and Pennsylvania taxpayers expect efficient, cost-effective government. With much of Pennsylvania’s infrastructure in need of repair, I ask that you join me in cosponsoring this resolution. |
