Subject: | Recognizing June 14th as the Founding of the US Army |
In the near future, we will offer a Resolution to recognize June 14th as the founding of the United States Army. The Army is the largest and most senior branch of the U.S. military, and can be traced back to the Continental Army in the days of the Revolutionary War. The U.S. Army is comprised of the Regular Army, Army Reserve, and Army National Guard. Of those who currently serve our nation in the military, over 55% are enlisted in the U.S. Army, Army Reserve, and/or Army National Guard. Since 1775 and the formation of the first Pennsylvania line, Pennsylvanians have always answered the call of duty for our nation. We are proud to be counted among the tens of thousands of U.S Army veterans who reside in Pennsylvania. This resolution will recognize the founding of the United States Army and the men and women who have served and continue to serve on our nation’s first line of defense.
