Subject: Designating March 8, 2024, as Biobased Products Day in Pennsylvania
 
I will soon offer a resolution designating March 8, 2024, as “Biobased Products Day” in Pennsylvania to recognize the integral role of biobased products in our Commonwealth’s rich agriculture industry.

Biobased products, those derived from raw materials such as plants or other renewable agricultural materials, provide for an alternative to conventional petroleum derived products. These products provide expansive contributions ranging from diversifying our energy portfolio to supporting our farmers and incentivizing job growth.

As Pennsylvanian agriculture continues its history of growth, leadership, and innovation, the role of biobased products should not go unnoticed. I invite my colleagues to join me in celebrating the impressive contributions of biobased products to our Commonwealth’s distinguished agriculture industry.
