Subject: | Prohibiting State Agencies from Hiring Lobbyists |
In the near future, I will reintroduce provisions of Senate Bill 802 from the 2021-2022 session which builds on my lobbying reform efforts.
Last session, several members led an effort to reform the status quo in Harrisburg through commonsense lobbying reform measures.
In light of the recent article detailing the Pennsylvania Game Commission hiring a private lobbying firm, I will reintroduce my bill from the package that prohibits state agencies from hiring a lobbyist, lobbying firm, or political consultant to influence the decision-making process of another Commonwealth entity or agency.
The money that goes toward paying these lobbying organizations is hard-working taxpayer dollars, or in this case, fees paid by our sportsmen to hunt. That money should be spent on public services to help all of our residents, not on continuing to pad pockets of lobbyists.
Please join me in co-sponsoring this important legislation. |
