Subject: | Recognizing June 2 as "Jason Kelce Day" in Pennsylvania |
On March 4, 2024, Jason Kelce announced he would be retiring from the National Football League after a 13-year career with the Philadelphia Eagles. In Kelce’s time as the Eagle’ Center he was selected for the Pro Bowl seven times and helped lead the Eagles to a victory in Super Bowl LII. Kelce has continuously given back to the people of Pennsylvania. Aside from his work in the NFL, Kelce has placed an emphasis in his personal life investing in the youth of Philadelphia through charitable efforts and community involvement. Kelce has demonstrated his passion to do what he can to make a difference in the lives of the youth around him. His actions and words display support, love, and belief in the youth in Southeastern Pennsylvania reaching their full potential. In 2022, Kelce started a non-profit entitled the (Be)Philly Foundation, where he dedicates his efforts towards helping Philadelphia youth. The (Be)Philly Foundation provides resources to support resources to local organizations helping kids through educational empowerment and partnering with local non-profits doing the same. For these reasons, Sen. Cappelletti and I plan to introduce a resolution to honor June 2, 2024, as Jason Kelce Day in Pennsylvania. June 2nd (6-2) is a day to honor Jason, as he wore #62 for the Eagles. Please join us in co-sponsoring this resolution to recognize Jason Kelce in honor of his actions as a role model, humanitarian, advocate, future NFL Hall of Famer, and most importantly a Pennsylvania resident. |
