Subject: Condolence Resolution Honoring Mr. Seymour Holtzman

We plan to introduce a condolence resolution to honor the life of humanitarian, entrepreneur and leader Seymour Holtzman.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, Mr. Holtzman graduated from Wilkes University in 1957, where he would later serve on the board of directors.

He put his education and skill to use in the business world, successfully acquiring, growing, and transforming dozens of businesses, primarily in the jewelry and retail sectors, into thriving enterprises.

His impact extends beyond business. Known for his philanthropy, Mr. Holtzman received numerous awards for his humanitarian endeavors and constantly sought new ways to make an impact.

Public service minded, Mr. Holtzman served as an advisor on international business for the United States Senate and was appointed to the United States Department of Commerce’s Industry Policy Advisory Committee for trade policy matters.  He was also politically involved, including being a key member of the Reagan-Bush campaign.

Seymour Holtzman passed away on May 28, 2024, at the age of 88. He will be remembered as an example of the American success story, but more importantly, as a father, husband and friend.

Please join us in co-sponsoring this resolution to honor the distinguished life of the Mr. Seymour Holtzman.
