Subject: Fresh Food Financing Initiative
 
In the near future, I will introduce legislation to establish a Fresh Food Financing Initiative within the Commonwealth.
 
This initiative aims to increase fresh food purchasing options for underserved communities across our state. By providing grants to improve equipment, technology, and resources, we can significantly enhance food access for all residents.
 
The program will prioritize addressing food deserts, areas where residents lack access to fresh food. Additionally, it will support Pennsylvania farmers by promoting local agricultural products for use within the program. Applications that include matching private funds will be given priority, maximizing the use of resources and fostering strong public-private partnerships.
 
Please join me in co-sponsoring this legislation to ensure all residents of the Commonwealth have access to fresh, healthy food.
