Subject: | Entering the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact |
We plan to introduce legislation that would allow Pennsylvania to enter the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact. It is important to note, this compact WILL NOT be implemented for this Presidential election and will have no impact on the results this year . The National Popular Vote law will take effect when enacted by states with a majority of the electoral votes (270 of 538). Then, the presidential candidate receiving the most popular votes in all 50 states and Washington DC will get all the electoral votes from all of the enacting states. The candidate receiving the most popular votes nationwide will be guaranteed enough electoral votes to become President. Please join us in cosponsoring this important electoral reform. |
