MEMORANDUM

Posted: September 3, 2024 10:29 AM
From: Senator Judith L. Schwank
To: All Senate members
Subject: Recognizing September 8-14, 2024 as National Assisted Living Week

Assisted living is a key component of our healthcare and social support system – especially as seniors age and their needs become more complex. Over the years, assisted living has grown and evolved to become a bridge for the difficult transition from independent living to full-time nursing care. When paired with caring staff and enthusiastic volunteers, the transition to assisted living can come as a major relief for families by sharing caregiving responsibilities and providing peace of mind.

This year’s National Assisted Living Week theme is “Inspiring Generations” which is dedicated to residents, their loved ones, staff, volunteers, and the surrounding communities to recognize the immense role of assisted living in caring for our aging population and individuals with disabilities. This role touches the lives of countless families and individuals within our communities.

Please join me in celebrating National Assisted Living Week in recognition of the clear dedication to maintaining and improving the lives and well-being of our community.
