Subject: | Parental Consent and Access to Medical Records of Minor Children (Former HB 1725) |
In the near future, I will be re-introducing legislation to give parents the authority to make better informed decisions about their adolescent’s healthcare. Current law for minor consent to treat has blocked parents from information about their child’s medical, dental and mental health treatments from ages 14 to 17 years old. We are allowing our children to make decisions which may harm them in the future. My legislation would ensure parental consent for a child’s medical, dental and mental health treatment is maintained until the child is a legal adult at 18 years of age. Please join me in co-sponsoring this legislation. Previous co-sponsors: Leadbeter, Bernstine, Pickett, M.
