MEMORANDUM

Posted: December 4, 2024 02:53 PM
From: Representative Stephanie Borowicz
To: All House members
Subject: Second Amendment Preservation Act

In the near future, I intend to introduce the Second Amendment Preservation Act.

The legislation, among many provisions, will prohibit the enforcement of any new federal restriction, prohibition or registration requirement for firearms, magazines and ammunition.

Additionally, my legislation would prohibit the use of any state or local resources to enforce any new federal restriction, prohibition or registration requirement on the purchase or ownership of firearms, and firearm accessories, which are currently legal products in Pennsylvania.

Pennsylvania's protections regarding the right to bear arms pre-date and influenced the federal constitution.

In fact, Pennsylvania was the first state to address the right to bear arms in its constitution -- by the time the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution was adopted in December of 1791, Pennsylvania had already reaffirmed twice the right to bear arms as a fundamental individual freedom.

My legislation will preserve that right and curb federal attempts to infringe upon it.

Please consider co-sponsoring this important piece of legislation.
