Subject: Non-Motor-Powered Boat Registration, Launch Permit and License Exemption (Former HB 2511)
 
Soon, I will reintroduce legislation to rid Pennsylvania boaters of bureaucratic red tape, regulation, and unnecessary licenses. 

Currently, kayaks, canoes, rowboats, and sailboats all require some manner of license, launch permit, or registration to be used in most Pennsylvania waters. A vast majority of states recognize that non-motor-powered boats should be exempt from these requirements, and Pennsylvania is one of the last states to still place these burdens on boaters.

Non-motor-powered boats should be exempt from these obstacles, and my legislation will ease everyone’s access to the aquatic recreational opportunities available throughout the State.
