MEMORANDUM

Subject: Raising PACENET Income Limits (Former HB2648)

While Pennsylvania is often ranked as one of the best states to retire in, rising costs, especially prescription drug prices, disproportionately impact those who live on a fixed income. The Pharmaceutical Assistance Contract for the Elderly (PACE) and PACE Needs Enhancement Tier (PACENET) programs help our seniors afford their life-saving medications.

To relieve a burden that many seniors face, I am introducing legislation to raise the income limits for PACENET from a cap of $33,500 to $45,000 for a single person and from $41,500 to $55,000 for a couple. This increase will allow thousands of older adults to qualify for PACENET without having much of an impact on the program itself. Further, it will reduce the impact of rising prescription drug prices and ensure that our seniors can obtain their medication at an affordable price.

Please consider joining me in co-sponsoring this legislation to increase the income limits for PACENET to support our seniors.
