Subject: | Eliminating Negative Regulatory Impact on Electric Prices |
Over the past few years, Pennsylvania families have all felt the strain of rising costs and record inflation. Rural and low-income citizens are the least able to afford increases in electric prices. This is completely unacceptable particularly when rising electric prices are attributable to changes in government regulations or policies. In the near future I will be reintroducing legislation (HB2526 of 2023-2024) to amend the Regulatory Review Act requiring the Independent Regulatory Review Commission (IRRC) to analyze and identify any proposed regulation that could negatively impact electric prices for citizens. Under this legislation the IRRC would specifically be required to explain how the regulation would impact low-income residents. Co-Sponsors from last session include: Kaufer, Fritz, Cabell, Hogan, Owlett, E. Nelson, Gillen, Greiner, Marcell, Moul, Oberlander, Rowe, Smith and Stender I hope you will join me in co-sponsoring this important legislation. |
