MEMORANDUM

Posted: December 18, 2024 11:28 AM
From: Representative Danilo Burgos and Rep. Manuel Guzman, Jr., Rep. Johanny Cepeda-Freytiz
To: All House members
Subject: Recognizing Dominican Republic Independence Day

The Dominican people living in the United States have made major contributions to the economic vitality and culture of our nation, accomplishing significant feats in many fields. Moreover, the Dominican Republic is one of our country’s largest trading partners in Latin America and is a popular destination for United States tourists.

With these individuals in mind, I am introducing a resolution recognizing February 27, 2025, as “Dominican Republic Independence Day” in Pennsylvania. It is imperative that we honor the contributions and rich history of the Dominican Republic on the day of its independence.

As stewards of diversity and inclusion, it is my hope that you will join me in this collective effort to celebrate the Dominican American community in Pennsylvania. Your support is greatly appreciated.
