Subject: | July 25, 2025 as World IVF Day in Pennsylvania |
Every year, over half a million babies are born thanks to in vitro fertilization (IVF). IVF provides those with infertility issues a second chance at starting a family. While the IVF process is not without risks, access to IVF is vital for individuals who may not be able to conceive otherwise. Parenthood became a reality for millions of people across the world when on July 25, 1978, the first baby conceived through the IVF process was born. Since 1978, advancements have continued to be made in the field of fertility medicine. In recognition of this, “World IVF Day” is celebrated every year on July 25th, the birthday of the first IVF baby. To recognize the positive impact that IVF and embryologists have had for those experiencing infertility, we plan to introduce a resolution designating July 25, 2025, as “World IVF Day” in Pennsylvania. Please join us in celebrating how far fertility medicine has come and recognizing how important IVF is for many families in our Commonwealth by co-sponsoring this resolution. |
