Subject: Resolution Calling for the Immediate Release of Marc Fogel
 
In the near future, we will be introducing a resolution urging Congress to fight for the immediate release of Marc Fogel.
 
Marc Fogel is a beloved history teacher from Butler, Pennsylvania who has had an impressive international teaching career. Most recently, Marc was teaching in Russia, and he was arrested upon returning to Moscow for possessing a small amount of marijuana. For the last three years, Marc has been detained in a Russian penal colony where he is serving a 14-year sentence. 
 
Very recently, the United States engaged in a prisoner swap that brought home other American prisoners but Marc remains imprisoned in Russia. We urge our colleagues to stand with the Fogel family of Pennsylvania and demand Marc’s swift release.
