Subject: | Designating the Month of October 2025 as “Police Chaplain Month” in Pennsylvania |
I will soon be introducing a resolution to recognize the month of October 2025 as “Police Chaplain Month” in Pennsylvania. Police Chaplains have been used across our Commonwealth since the 1990’s and saw their official classification in 2002. These brave individuals possess a critical role in our police departments by acting as emotional, moral, and spiritual guides for officers and victims alike and are often one of the first on the scene of a death to console the families of the deceased. With their distinct community presence at key events and outreach programs, Police Chaplains are one of the backbones of the law enforcement community with several local and regional police departments utilizing their ethical guidance to foster the bond between law enforcement and the communities they serve and protect. Please join me in sponsoring this important resolution so that we may recognize the critical role our Police Chaplains play in guiding the victims of crime as well as the law enforcement officers that keep our communities safe. |
