Subject: Requirement for Competitive Bidding on State Real Property
 
The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania owns a tremendous amount of real estate. Inevitably, some of that real property will be sold. We must ensure taxpayers are appropriately compensated for the sale of that property. 
  
I will be reintroducing SB 1023 from last session, which was cosponsored by Senator Rothman.  
 

This legislation requires a competitive bid process for the conveyance of real estate owned by the Commonwealth. The sale of public property should take place with maximum transparency and ensure that taxpayers are getting the best price possible for the sale of their assets.
