MEMORANDUM

From: Senator Nick Pisciottano and Sen. Jay Costa, Sen. Wayne D. Fontana, Sen. Devlin J. Robinson, Sen. Lindsey M. Williams
To: All Senate members
Subject: Condolence Resolution Honoring Representative Matthew Gergely

In the near future, we plan to introduce a resolution expressing our condolences on the recent passing of Representative Matthew R. Gergely.

We are heartbroken as we grieve the sudden loss of our friend and colleague who served Allegheny County for the last two years. Prior to his election the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, Matthew R. Gergely served his hometown and the communities of the Monongahela Valley for decades in various capacities for the City of McKeesport and the McKeesport Area School District. During his time in the General Assembly, he had two bills signed into law. He was a strong advocate for the communities and families he took pride in serving and developed bipartisan friendships everywhere he went. Above all else, Matt was focused on helping ordinary people lead better lives and ensuring the next generation had opportunities to succeed. His mark on the world will continue to endure in our memories of his service to his community and dedication to his family.

We hope to offer this condolence resolution to his wife, two sons, and his entire family as they grieve the loss of a loving father and husband. We ask that you join us in honoring the life of Representative Matthew Gergely by cosponsoring this tribute to his memory.
