Short Title:
An Act establishing a procedure whereby a person may execute in advance a written declaration indicating to a physician the person's desire for a physician to initiate, continue, withhold or withdraw certain life-sustaining medical treatment in the event the person is incompetent and is determined to be in a terminal condition or to be permanently unconscious; providing for a right of conscience; requiring life-sustaining treatment to pregnant women in certain cases; requiring in certain cases the provision of nutrition and hydration; limiting the power of attorney; and providing penalties.
