AN ACT
Amending Title 34 (Game) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
Statutes, in fiscal affairs, further providing for
appropriation and audit of moneys; and, in property and
buildings, further providing for payments in lieu of taxes.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. Section 522(a) and (c) of Title 34 of the
Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes are amended to read:
§ 522. Appropriation and audit of moneys.
(a) Appropriation.--
(1) Subject to an annual review and recommendations
under subsection (b), all moneys in the Game Fund are hereby
appropriated to the commission and may be expended only for
the purposes authorized under this title. This paragraph
expires June 30, 2025.
(2) Beginning January 1, 2025, the commission shall
prepare and annually submit to the chair of the
Appropriations Committee of the Senate and the chair of the
Appropriations Committee of the House of Representatives the

information required under subsection (b)(2) and an analysis
of and requests and recommendations regarding the itemized
budget of amounts to be appropriated from the Game Fund.

(c) Expenditures from Game Fund.--
(1) After review under subsection (a), the commission
shall submit to the Governor, for approval or disapproval,
estimates of the amount of moneys to be expended from the
Game Fund. The State Treasurer shall not honor any
requisition for expenditure of any moneys in excess of the
amount approved by the Governor. Moneys in the Game Fund
shall be paid out upon warrant of the State Treasurer drawn
after requisition by the director of the commission. This
paragraph expires June 30, 2025.
(2) Beginning with the 2025-2026 fiscal year, moneys in
the Game Fund shall be paid out upon appropriation by the
General Assembly and, after requisition by the director of
the commission, warrant of the State Treasurer.
Section 2. Section 708 of Title 34 is amended to read:
§ 708. Payments in lieu of taxes.
(a) Payments required.--The commission shall make payments
in lieu of taxes on all lands, waters or buildings to which
title has been acquired in the name of or for the use of the
commission, [which payments shall be equal to the fixed charges
as apply to and are imposed upon State forests pursuant to
section 1 of the act of May 17, 1929 (P.L.1798, No.591),
referred to as the Forest Reserves Municipal Financial Relief
Law.] as provided under section 1798.1-E of the act of April 9,
1929 (P.L.343, No.176), known as The Fiscal Code, and subsection
(b).

(b) Additional payments from Game Fund.--In addition to
payments under section 1798.1-E(b)(2) of The Fiscal Code, the
following apply:
(1) An additional amount of 40¢ per acre shall be paid
from the Game Fund for the benefit of each county where the
real property owned by the commission is located.
(2) An additional amount of 40¢ per acre shall be paid
from the Game Fund for the benefit of each school district
where the real property owned by the commission is located.
(3) An additional amount of 40¢ per acre shall be paid
from the Game Fund for the benefit of each township where the
real property owned by the commission is located.
Section 2 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
