                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
     2     Statutes, further regulating authority to issue permits for
     3     mobile homes.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby enacts as follows:
     6     Section 1.  Section 4961 of Title 75 of the Pennsylvania
     7  Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a subsection to read:
     8  § 4961.  Authority to issue permits.
     9     * * *
    10     (d)  Additional requirements for mobile homes.--
    11         (1)  The department and local authorities shall not issue
    12     a permit under this section to anyone other than a common
    13     carrier or a contract carrier, as defined by Title 66
    14     (relating to public utilities), for the operation or movement
    15     of a mobile home from a site at which the mobile home was
    16     used as a dwelling place unless the application for that
    17     permit is accompanied by a copy of a valid removal permit for
    18     that mobile home issued in accordance with section 407 of the

     1     act of May 22, 1933 (P.L.853, No.155), known as The General
     2     County Assessment Law, or section 617.1 of the act of May 21,
     3     1943 (P.L.571, No.254), known as The Fourth to Eighth Class
     4     County Assessment Law.
     5         (2)  No common carrier or contract carrier, as defined by
     6     Title 66, shall move a mobile home pursuant to a permit
     7     issued under this section from a site at which the mobile
     8     home was used as a dwelling place unless such carrier has
     9     received a copy of a valid removal permit for that mobile
    10     home issued in accordance with section 407 of The General
    11     County Assessment Law or section 617.1 of The Fourth to
    12     Eighth Class County Assessment Law.
    13     Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
