| A RESOLUTION |
| |
1 | Memorializing the Department of Education to create stimulating |
2 | ways to implement geography education in our public schools. |
3 | WHEREAS, Wars, poverty and economic growth, weather events |
4 | such as earthquakes and drought, languages and agricultural |
5 | production are examples of world issues affected by geography; |
6 | and |
7 | WHEREAS, Understanding the effect of geography leads to |
8 | conflict resolution; and |
9 | WHEREAS, The key to understanding the effect of geography |
10 | lies in public education; therefore be it |
11 | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives memorialize the |
12 | Department of Education to create stimulating ways to implement |
13 | geography education in our public schools; and be it further |
14 | RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be transmitted to |
15 | the Honorable Edward G. Rendell, Governor of Pennsylvania, and |
16 | the Honorable Gerald Zahorchak, Secretary of Education of |
17 | Pennsylvania. |
