A RESOLUTION
Designating June 10, 2023, as "Delco Day" in Pennsylvania.
WHEREAS, Each year in June, the residents of Delaware County
(Delco) come together to celebrate their community and raise
money for a Delco charity; and
WHEREAS, This year's event will mark the eighth year of
celebrating all things Delco on June 10, in honor of the 610
area code; and
WHEREAS, The festivities will take place at JT Brewski's in
Primos, where live entertainment will be featured; and
WHEREAS, This event is raising money to support the
HEADstrong Foundation, an organization that works to provide
care packages, financial assistance and housing for cancer
patients; and
WHEREAS, To meet the needs of families displaced to the
greater Philadelphia area during comprehensive cancer treatments
or lifesaving clinical trials, the HEADstrong Foundation
purchased a home in Swarthmore Borough and fully renovated the

home; and
WHEREAS, Since its opening, the house has offered more than
2,555 complementary nights of comfort and support annually to
cancer patients and their families; and
WHEREAS, The house is known as "Nick's House," after the
owner's son who passed away from his battle with non-Hodgkin's
lymphoma; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives designate June
10, 2023, as "Delco Day" in Pennsylvania.
