        INTRODUCED BY GANNON, GEORGE, CALTAGIRONE, WALKO, WATSON,
           RUBLEY, CAWLEY, ARMSTRONG, PALLONE, TANGRETTI, WHEATLEY,
           ROBERTS, HERMAN, READSHAW, CRAHALLA, SCAVELLO, JOSEPHS,
           GOODMAN, FAIRCHILD, WANSACZ, LEH, E. Z. TAYLOR, PETRARCA,
           JAMES AND B. SMITH, MARCH 14, 2005

        REFERRED TO COMMITTEE ON ENVIRONMENTAL RESOURCES AND ENERGY,
           MARCH 14, 2005

                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Directing the Legislative Budget and Finance Committee to study
     2     greenhouse gases and global warming.

     3     WHEREAS, There are environmental concerns that greenhouse
     4  gases are responsible for global warming and that this
     5  Commonwealth is experiencing these concerns; and
     6     WHEREAS, In order to properly legislate on environmental
     7  issues on global warming, the House of Representatives should be
     8  advised on these concerns; therefore be it
     9     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives direct the
    10  Legislative Budget and Finance Committee to make a study of
    11  greenhouse gases and global warming; and be it further
    12     RESOLVED, That the study concentrate on whether greenhouse
    13  gases are responsible for global warming, whether the production
    14  of greenhouse gases by business and industry in this
    15  Commonwealth is a significant contributing factor to global
    16  warming and whether reductions of greenhouse gases in this

     1  Commonwealth will have a significant impact on global warming
     2  and a minimum impact on the economy of this Commonwealth; and be
     3  it further
     4     RESOLVED, That the committee report its findings and
     5  recommendations to the House of Representatives as soon as
     6  possible.
