A RESOLUTION
Designating the week of September 10 through 16, 2023, as
"Personal Care and Assisted Living Week" in Pennsylvania.
WHEREAS, Residents of personal care homes and assisted living
residences are members of the larger community, offering their
knowledge, life experiences and involvement; and
WHEREAS, Their past contributions continue to be a vital part
of Pennsylvania's rich history and their ongoing participation
deepens our Commonwealth's identity; and
WHEREAS, Personal care homes and assisted living residences
are a critical long-term care option for older adults that
foster choice, dignity and independence; and
WHEREAS, Personal care homes and assisted living residences
are committed to excellence, innovation and the advancement of
person-centered care; and
WHEREAS, The contributions of personal care and assisted
living communities and employees in providing care to the
seniors of Pennsylvania are recognized; and

WHEREAS, "National Assisted Living Week" encourages
communities to celebrate the dedication of staff, the
individuality of residents and the deep connections formed in
these settings, while overcoming the precautions and
restrictions of COVID-19; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives designate the
week of September 10 through 16, 2023, as "Personal Care and
Assisted Living Week" in Pennsylvania; and be it further
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives urge all
residents of this Commonwealth to visit or call a loved one,
family member or friend in any care setting and offer a kind
word and spend time participating in various activities to unite
all walks of life in need of our continuing love and support;
and be it further
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives urge all
Pennsylvanians to learn how personal care homes and assisted
living residences benefit this Commonwealth.
