INTRODUCED AS NONCONTROVERSIAL RESOLUTION UNDER RULE 35, JUNE 4, 2001
A RESOLUTION 1 Recognizing the many successes and achievements of the 2 administrators, faculty, students, parents and volunteers of 3 George Washington High School in Philadelphia and recognizing 4 June 14, 2001, as "George Washington High School Recognition 5 Day" in Pennsylvania. 6 WHEREAS, George Washington High School in the City of 7 Philadelphia is an exemplary secondary public school in this 8 Commonwealth; and 9 WHEREAS, George Washington High School is the only 10 comprehensive high school in Philadelphia to meet and exceed the 11 Performance Index target of the Philadelphia School District; 12 and 13 WHEREAS, George Washington High School is the only 14 "Technology Best Practices Site" in southeastern Pennsylvania 15 and is recognized by the Department of Education as one of the 16 top 14 technology schools in this Commonwealth; and 17 WHEREAS, Business Week has recognized George Washington High 18 School as one of the top 31 schools nationally for preparing 19 students for the future; and
1 WHEREAS, George Washington High School has numerous sports 2 teams that have repeatedly excelled and have won dozens of city 3 championship titles; and 4 WHEREAS, The dedicated administrators, faculty, hardworking 5 students, parents and volunteers of George Washington High 6 School are the reason for these many successes and achievements; 7 therefore be it 8 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives recognize the 9 many successes and achievements of the administrators, faculty, 10 students, parents and volunteers of George Washington High 11 School in Philadelphia; and be it further 12 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives recognize June 13 14, 2001, as "George Washington High School Recognition Day" in 14 Pennsylvania.
