A RESOLUTION 1 Recognizing January 30, 1990, the birthday of Franklin Delano 2 Roosevelt, as "Day of the Disabled." 3 WHEREAS, By Act No. 71 of 1988 the General Assembly of the 4 Commonwealth enacted a law designating January 30 of each year, 5 the birthday anniversary of Franklin Delano Roosevelt, as "Day 6 of the Disabled"; and 7 WHEREAS, More than 1,000,000 citizens of this Commonwealth 8 are considered to be physically disabled; and 9 WHEREAS, Through courage and determination, the physically 10 disabled have conquered seemingly insurmountable obstacles to 11 lead successful lives; and 12 WHEREAS, The physically disabled demonstrate unique character 13 and perseverance in pursuing and attaining their desired goals; 14 and 15 WHEREAS, These individuals have made noteworthy contributions 16 to their communities, this Commonwealth and the nation; and
1 WHEREAS, The physically disabled of this Commonwealth deserve 2 recognition by this Commonwealth and its citizens; therefore be 3 it 4 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 5 Commonwealth of Pennsylvania recognize January 30, 1990, the 6 birthday of Franklin Delano Roosevelt, as "Day of the Disabled" 7 in honor of all of the disabled citizens of Pennsylvania.
